Ferrari Enzo Full Spec

Our last post, which showed a Ferrari Enzo after it had been hit by a bus and careered into a VW Golf, didn’t perhaps illustrate the car at its best.

Ferarri Enzo

Here’s the rundown of this tip-top model :

Named after company founder Enzo Ferrari, the Ferrari Enzo was built in a limited run of 399, with an extra car that was offered to the Pope. It is an outstanding expression of the concept of extreme sportiness, developed for road use, yet epitomizing the most advanced concepts of Formula 1 racing technology.

Ferrari set out to develop the Ferrari Enzo as an integrated system designed for extreme performance, in which even the limits of the performance achievable by the driver were enhanced, thanks to a man-machine interface typical of Formula 1.

Cadillac Sixteen (Yes, a V-16)

I never liked Cadillacs until I came to the States. That event coincided with some of the best cars ever made by Cadillac - it was as though they put on a special effort just for me. And I am a complete convert; in my opinion, Cadillacs are now the best looking and most desirable of all American cars.

Cad 16

The Cadillac Sixteen, a design exercise from 2003, is the essence of all that has been good about Caddies ever since. Styling features have influenced later models and the car itself, with its 14.6 liter 16 cylinder engine, is the perfect combination of sports and luxury. It looks a brute and, thankfully, it is. No wonder Cadillacs today are serious contenders for the motorist’s checkbook.

Here’s what Top Gear had to say about the Sixteen when they tried it (lucky blighters).

Knight Rider for Sale

One of the four Pontiac Trans Ams modified to play the part of KITT in the seventies television series, Knight Rider, is up for sale. If you’re into collecting specials, this could be for you, provided you have a spare $150,000 floating around, of course. It is not street legal and is most likely to go to a collection, therefore.

Knight

It does have the fancy red scanning light at the front but the rest of the gear is mostly for show only. And David Hasselhoff isn’t part of the deal, although I’m not sure whether that’s a plus or a minus.

A Man and his Rover

I’ll probably regret this but I couldn’t resist. Found it on YouTube, of course - a weird guy and his beloved Rover P5B.

That was the last of the Rover tanks, a last despairing cry from the Rovers of old before they tried to become modern and hip. You can see the close relationship between the P5 and the Rover 90 of the fifties - my father had one of those so I sort of understand this guy’s obsession. They were the most solid thing on the road and never let you down, after all.

Rover P5

All that was to disappear with the advent of the Rover 2000, a wild foray into the future for the company, followed by the long decay under the thumb of the British Motors Corporation, and then the apparent rebirth as all that was left of that disintegrating organization. But that was the Rover name only - for a real Rover you have to go back to the days of the Rover P5…

Anyway, take a look at the video and wonder what it’s all about.
