One of the four Pontiac Trans Ams modified to play the part of KITT in the seventies television series, Knight Rider, is up for sale. If you’re into collecting specials, this could be for you, provided you have a spare $150,000 floating around, of course. It is not street legal and is most likely to go to a collection, therefore.
It does have the fancy red scanning light at the front but the rest of the gear is mostly for show only. And David Hasselhoff isn’t part of the deal, although I’m not sure whether that’s a plus or a minus.

I’ll probably regret this but I couldn’t resist. Found it on YouTube, of course - a weird guy and his beloved Rover P5B.
That was the last of the Rover tanks, a last despairing cry from the Rovers of old before they tried to become modern and hip. You can see the close relationship between the P5 and the Rover 90 of the fifties - my father had one of those so I sort of understand this guy’s obsession. They were the most solid thing on the road and never let you down, after all.
Rover P5
All that was to disappear with the advent of the Rover 2000, a wild foray into the future for the company, followed by the long decay under the thumb of the British Motors Corporation, and then the apparent rebirth as all that was left of that disintegrating organization. But that was the Rover name only - for a real Rover you have to go back to the days of the Rover P5…
Anyway, take a look at the video and wonder what it’s all about.

There are only 400 Enzos in the world - oops, make that 399. It seems comedian Eddie Griffin has managed to wreck one of them while practising for a race to promote the film Redline. He was unhurt but the Enzo is a write off - that’s $1.5 million worth of motor car.

Daniel Sadek, whose car it was, has “mixed feelings” about the incident, apparently. Well, I guess he would.
Never mind, at least there’s one thing we can all learn from this: never let a joker borrow your car…

Warwick University’s Eco One
The WMG students at Warwick University have designed and built one of the greenest cars on earth, the Eco One - and it’s made from potatoes and cashew nuts, amongst other exotic materials. Amazingly, it’s a racing car capable of 150 mph and runs on bio-fuels.
The ultimate aim of the students’ project is to build a car that is ninety-five percent bio-degradable or recyclable. The Eco One is just the beginning, it seems. But it does show what is already possible in this field of research and points the way for manufacturers of green cars in the future.
The Eco One will debut at the Sexy Green Car Show at the Eden Project between March 30 and April 15, where it will stand alongside the offerings of some of the largest car manufacturers in the world. To learn more, visit the Warwick University site or read PitPass’ article giving the racing view of the project.
